The Sandringham Series chessmen in rosewood and boxwood represent classic Staunton at its very best. These chessmen have come from the world's best producers of luxury chess pieces and have been made without compromise from the finest graded rosewood and clean graded boxwood. Each piece has just the right amount of weighting in the base to allow perfect balance, something that can be truly appreciated when you begin to move the chessmen around the board. The level of detail in the knights is outstanding. They retain a classic Staunton pattern and the uniformity among all four knights is unsurpassed.

The quality of the finish on the chess pieces has been achieved by a lengthy polishing process that allows the close, dense grains of the wood to shine through naturally, allowing for the most intense detail and sharpness to be retained in every piece. The rosewood used for the dark chess pieces has been carefully selected for its grain and colour. The uniformity of the tones throughout the set is superb. These sets are produced in tiny numbers, usually just five at a time, and each one comes certified and numbered as a genuine Regency Chess Company product.
