At 11.2cm, the king is a towering, elegant figure with his intricate finial and double banding detail on his collar. He, along with every piece in his supporting army, is perfectly weighted for balance and has billiard cloth applied to their bases to protect your board.

You will notice that the kings in this set are branded at the base with the words “1851”. These ebony reproduction pieces also bear the distinguishable markings of the king's crown on one white knight and one white rook, and one black knight, one black rook. As we know, these pieces will sit on the king's flank.
